What is the purpose of the original texture and is dry to support it?

About fell out laughing when my boss said that the defects in texture, not hide, my work, it would be almost perfect, so I just pulled something in your face:)

and I personally took a little color and mixed with clay and plaster is used with drywall, then applied with a sponge, wiping places random, then wait for the dry zone which was repeated once more, went well
